I was looking for a way to start my own business but didn’t know how or where to start. WEEE, Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence, helped bring my small business idea of wellness consulting to a bigger reality. Alice and the other consultants showed me ways to creatively market my business and generate income. They are supportive and always there to answer my questions about other business endeavors or mentoring me on ways to become more successful.

With the support of the WEEE staff and the Operation JumpStart program, I was able to create a small business plan and analyze the viability of a small business idea. The program was effective in helping me to learn about small business plans and the importance of these plans in determining the viability of an opportunity. The best surprise was the never-ending encouragement and support from my classmates. Through group activities and individual interaction, my classmates helped me to hone my business plan by reinforcing and challenging existing ideas and by offering ideas from a fresh perspective.

I started Verisure Background Screener, LLC , a Credit Reporting Agency (CRA), out of my desire to help all people in need of fair and accurate background histories adhering to Fair Credit and Reporting Act and EEOC guidelines.  We provide small to medium companies and non profit organizations pre-employment background histories for potential job applicants.  One of the most rewarding aspects of our services is being a conduit for families to have access to employment and actively assisting them in that endeavor.
