At Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence, our steadfast commitment lies in catalyzing positive economic transformation through evidence-based research and practices to drive meaningful change for women and minority owned businesses. Rooted in this ethos, our initiatives are meticulously designed to embolden individuals and small businesses to uplift communities across three crucial domains: entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and health and well-being. By fostering a nurturing environment of learning and innovation, we endeavor to cultivate a generation of resilient and prosperous business leaders who are equipped to not only survive but thrive in the ever-evolving economic landscape.
Our Story
In 2009, Alice Williams led the initiative to form the organization Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence (WEEE) with a small community of women business owners. Since the beginning, WEEE programming has been designed using evidence-based strategies and best practices in entrepreneurship training and development.
Under Alice’s leadership in her role as Executive Director, in 2013 WEEE became a member of the International Business Innovation Association and the only gender specific mixed-use business incubator in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The organization has partnered with Operation JumpStart, an award-winning microenterprise development program and WEEE is the only certified agency to deliver this curriculum within a 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh.
Most recently, Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence gained international certification with GrowthWheel, a global organization providing business coaching tools designed for all businesses – in all industries and life stages. WEEE has been positioned to meet the challenges to deliver the outcomes necessary to be the leader in assisting entrepreneurs, specifically women in launching and sustaining businesses in this region.
