Alice Williams, Executive Director
Alice Williams is the founder and Executive Director of Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence (WEEE), where she has served since 2009. With her array of experience in microenterprise and small business development, she continues to empower a diverse community of women entrepreneurs to focus their talents and skills into legitimate revenue generating projects and businesses. With clearly defined growth plans and the right tools to succeed, Alice has proven that women business owners have a place in the business community and economic development in the Pittsburgh region and the surrounding area. As an entrepreneur herself, Alice understands the challenges to launch and grow a sustainable business.
Alice holds a BS in Human Resources Management and an MSOL in Organizational Leadership, both degrees from Geneva College.
Tara Ellison-Lee, Director of Program Business Strategy
Tara Ellison-Lee is the Director of Program Business Strategy at Women Empowered for Entrepreneurial Excellence where she oversees the educational offerings for entrepreneurs seeking business development and growth opportunities. With prior experience working with women entrepreneurs, Tara brings vast experience in market research, instruction and facilitation, peer group dynamics and business coaching. She serves as a certified facilitator for WEEE’s business programs, Operation JumpStart and Growth Wheel.
Tara holds an MBA from Chatham University, as well as a Doctorate in Higher and Postsecondary Education. For the dissertation phase of her program, she developed an entrepreneurship education program utilizing mass open online courses coupled with a business incubation cohort model for support.
